We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team on an as-needed basis. As a Dietary Cook, you will play an important role in preparing nutritious, appealing meals that support the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook meals according to hospital menus, dietary guidelines, and portion requirements.
• Follow recipes and accommodate special diets such as low-sodium, diabetic, and allergy-specific diets.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food items to prevent contamination and minimize waste.
• Assist with inventory by monitoring supplies and reporting shortages or equipment issues.
• Ensure meals are prepared and presented in an appetizing and professional manner.
• Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare teams to meet patient nutritional needs.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with meal delivery when needed.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare or food-service environment.
• Knowledge of basic nutrition, food preparation, and special dietary requirements.
• Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
